She would hate going home for the holidays because she barely knew her foster mom and the other foster kids there. She has a half brother who was 17 when her father died and he ran away and she hasn't seen him since then.
RP Example*: Avery sat down quietly during dinner it was her first night there and she didn't know anybody. She wanted to make new friends but for some reason when she first met people she was unusually shy. She ate as quickly as possible and got up and went back to her cabin without talking to anybody. She sighs as she plops down on her bed. She has been hoping this would be better than her boarding because it had been just that: a school, not home. She wanted this to be home.
